If you have Yoga or alternative fitness experience, or have attended beginners’ sessions, then this class will suit you. After warming up with Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), the focus is on asanas developing stamina, strength, balance, concentration, and increased confidence.
Breathing techniques:
Kapalabhati, “shining skull”, is an energising pranayama exercise or Kriya cleansing the nasal passageways and sinuses, and ultimately supplying the brain with a fresh supply of oxygen-rich blood. It also cleanses the throat and lungs and stimulates the abdominal muscles and organs. It is a wonderfully vitalising exercise & purifies and strengthens lungs.
Anuloma Viloma Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing) is an excellent breathing technique to calm and centre the mind while filtering the nasal passages.
Apart from the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits that yoga can bring about when practiced regularly, you will have enough knowledge and understanding of sequences if you want to establish a home practice whether you have 15 mins or 60 mins to spare!
